Plotix is a mobile app by Türkol Yazılım for geotagging photos, dropping manual GPS points, drawing lines and polygons, and exporting to GIS formats. This policy explains what data the app generates, where it goes, and your rights.
1. TL;DR — Offline-First Design
Plotix runs on your device. Your photos, location records, projects, and watermark templates are not sent to Türkol's servers and remain on the device that created them. The exceptions covered below (reverse geocoding, ads, billing) are limited and detailed.
2. Data Stored on Your Device
- Photos: Photos taken in the app are stored in your device's private app directory.
- Location data: Latitude, longitude, altitude, accuracy, and heading attached to feature records. Never leaves the device.
- Projects and features: Names, descriptions, tags, custom properties — kept locally in SQLite.
- Watermark templates, settings: Stored on device.
3. Third-Party Services
3.1 Location Permission & OS-Level Geocoding
To turn coordinates into a human-readable address (e.g. "Sultanahmet, Fatih, Istanbul"), the app uses your operating system's geocoding service (Apple or Google). Those calls are made by the OS and do not pass through Türkol's servers. Their privacy policies:
- Apple: apple.com/legal/privacy
- Google: policies.google.com/privacy
3.2 Google AdMob (free tier only)
In the free tier, Google AdMob serves banner and interstitial ads. AdMob may process the following data under its own policy:
- The device's anonymous advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID, iOS IDFA — both can be reset or disabled in device settings)
- Device type and IP address (used for coarse location estimation)
- Ad-interaction telemetry
To remove ads, upgrade to Pro. AdMob policy: policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
3.3 Google Play Billing / App Store
Pro subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by Google Play Billing (Android) or StoreKit (iOS). Türkol does not see or store your payment details (card number, etc.); only the purchase status (active / inactive) is recorded on the device.
3.4 OpenStreetMap Tile Service
Map imagery is loaded from OpenStreetMap.org's tile servers. Your IP address is delivered to the tile server. Policy: osmfoundation.org Privacy Policy.
4. Device Permissions
- Location (while in use): To attach GPS coordinates to captured photos and to display the map.
- Camera: Used only when you take a photo from inside the app.
- Storage / Photos: To save photos to your gallery (optional; toggleable in Settings) and to deliver export files to the share target.
- Internet: For map tiles, AdMob, and Play Billing verification.
5. Data Transfer (Initiated by You)
No data leaves the device unless you initiate the transfer. Active transfer paths:
- Export (GeoJSON, KML, KMZ, SHP, GPX, CSV) — handed to your chosen target via the system share sheet.
- Back up all projects — produces a single zip and hands it to the system share sheet.
6. Children
Plotix is not designed for users under 13. Because the app integrates AdMob, the audience target is 13+.
7. Your Rights (GDPR / KVKK)
Under GDPR (Articles 15–22) and Turkey's KVKK (Article 11) you have the right to:
- Be informed about whether your data is processed
- Access, correct, or request deletion of your data
- Object to processing
- Withdraw consent (e.g. AdMob personalisation — done via device settings)
Because Plotix never moves data off the device, deletion is achieved practically by uninstalling the app. Still, you can reach out for any request.
8. Policy Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified inside the app, and the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised.
